Welcome! You've just landed here from Amanda Carlson Designs.
I hope you've settled in to fall and things have settled into normal for you (whatever that is). When I designed this kit I was hoping some of you would have a chance to settle in and read a good book this fall. Who's your favorite author? Mine's Margaret Atwood – she even has a book out I haven't read yet!
We had carte blanche on theme this month so I chose "A Good Read" There's a full size bookcase (12X12) and books sized to fit, everything is separate so you can build your own. You could also size them down and use them as elements as shown in the preview.
I've seen this month's previews and there are many themes all in the same color palette so you can mix and match using all kinds of photos from any season.

Hi Everyone! Could it really be August 1st??? Where did our summer go?
This month I was away part of the month and didn't finish putting things I wanted to in this kit. You get all the papers, but I only got the clustered elements done. After looking at the previews of what is offered this month, I'm not worried about you getting plenty of elements – the kits are especially gorgeous this month and there are 100 designers taking part. Get out there and have fun and scrap some of those summer memories while we still have them!

I decided to throw my hat in the ring of The Studio Spring Fling Designer Contest (follow the link to download – there are lots of other beautiful paper packs there too!) Week one challenge was to create a paper pack of 12 papers. The contest will run for 4 weeks with a different challenge each week. The theme is wedding and I chose a soft, muted spring palette which will carry throughout the month. Here are the papers and I'm working on the elements for the coming week. If you download each week you'll have a full kit by the end of the month. The requirement for elements is 30, so you'll have lots of those to play with! Here is the Preview.

I want to first thank you for your comments, secondly I want to apologize to all of you who have had trouble with 4 shared. I just downloaded and had no problem, but then tried working on my account and was having problems. Obviously 4 shared is being temperamental. If I understand correctly it's the full kit that people are having trouble with. The smaller download contain the same kit, but split into 3 smaller files, please try these if you have trouble with the full kit file. I've also uploaded to SkyDrive, but I just got an email from someone saying there's a problem with a kit I have there also, but we'll give that a go. Reminder: SkyDrive has 50MB file limit so those will also be 3 small files also, but this might work better for some of you.

I’d like to think that the first sign of spring is the Easter digi scrap kits that appear each year. I had a lot of fun working on this kit with it’s bright spring colors and fun elements. I got to practice my airbrush technique and I hope you have as much fun with these elements as I did..
The Easter Bunny is in hiding this year so everyone donned their ears to take his place. The ladies have on their Easter bonnets and everyone is ready for spring – including me – I’m so ready! How about you?

This is my contribution to this years Worldwide Christmas Scrapbooking Freebies.

Free Halloween Kit and another train

Believe it or not it’s here! Fall and time to think about all the little ghosties and goblins dressing up in costume and having their picture taken and then of course scrapped! The Halloween kit is always my most downloaded kit of the year – so I’d say everyone has fun scrapping pics of the kids in costume (and the adults too!) This year I’ve tried to give you some mini page kits so you can put your pages together quickly. If an element has a number on it that means that it corresponds to that number background. Each background has a matching bow, button, tag and frame. The solids are burlap texture and have matching brads. Don’t let the doodled frames scare you, I’ve given you a photo mask for each one so you don’t have to crop and erase. The masks are also numbered to match the frames. The kit is full size 12X12, but there’s a download for a tagger size version also.

If you’ve been reading my blog you know I have a grandson in the US Navy. I’m very happy to report that he just returned recently from his second deployment to the Middle East safe and sound and even got to come to New Hampshire with us for a hike. This month’s kit is entitled “With Gratitude to the Military” . If you don’t have any military photos for layouts this kit could also be used for camping, boys or other outdoor layouts. Well it's the first of the month and that can only mean one thing. The goodie Train is back! This month we have flashback to the eighties. To me the eighties was all about the fashion - Madonna, Flashdance, aerobics outfits. That's the direction I went in this month for my contribution to the train.

There were a few sayings from the book that I thought would be great, versatile scrapbook sayings. Here they are as speech bubbles to use with any of your layouts you wish.

I also just downloaded the story for FREE as mp3 files - it's about 6 hours worth of the original Lewis Carroll story read by Michael York- you can get it HERE - they do ask for your name and email and you may get other newsletters from them, but I'm an audio book listener so it works for me.

It also seems I've created some confusion about my kit. I don't have it in a tagger size - just full size. If someone sends me the specs for taggers I'll offer my kits on these trains in both formats from now on. I have no problem with anyone making it into tagger size themselves, that's fine.

What I can send you is links to the kit broken down into smaller files (there are 4 elements files, and 6 papers files) and if you email me, I'd be happy to do that.

Here's my kit for the goodie train for March and I have to tell you I probably had the most fun designing this kit of all the kits I've done (although I did have fun at Christmas this year).
This is a full size kit 12X12 300dpi. I'm working on a little more wordart, not sure when I'll get it done.
Download this kit and then hop on through that door in the tree and grab the other designers kits - you'll love them!
These are large downloads, so please drop me an email at (brenda@edmascari.com) if you need smaller files and I'll be glad to zip them up for you.
We could have gone with either the the original (darker) version of the story or the lighter Disney version - I tried to give you the option by including some of each and some things that would work with all types of layouts. The new version coming out is definitely not for kids - has anyone seen it yet???Tim Burton - definitely dark! Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter - might go just to see that!
The stitching (flower and circle frame) is made to fit one inside the other so you can use them separately or together as you wish. Some collage papers and some solids and not so solids(plaids, glitter edges etc.) are included. There are 36 papers and 75 unique elements. HAVE FUN!

The list of designers taking part in this train is growing by the minute! I've seen the previews and believe me there's lots of gifts for you on this train.
So grab a cup of hot chocolate and a candy cane and get into the holiday spirit as you download away.

My kit is a full kit with 31 papers, 46 elements, 21 word art elements, and a full alpha. Papers are 12X12/300dpi with elements sized accordingly. This year I dedicated the kit to crafters and all of those handmade gifts you'll be giving or receiving. Wether you're baking, knitting sewing, making ornaments - there's something in here for you to scrap those memories of your loving work.

I made several of the elements after I created the preview, so there are lots of previews here. The previews don't necessarily match the downloads as to what's in each one. The designers who brought you the ghost train on Halloween are bring you a great Christmas blog train. I've just seen more than 20 beautiful previews (update there are now 44 and climbing- they are all beautiful!) My kit is a full sized kit dedicated to all Christmas Crafting. Free alpha and masks

Well I finally got the two things I really wanted to add on to my Ghost Train Freebie done. There's an alpha and two photo masks. My original part of the train is two posts down.

The upper case all have a Halloween graphic on them and then there's a matching plain lower case for you to mix and match as your imagination dictates!

I love making photo masks and these were fun because my favorites are always grungy and Halloween seemed like the perfect fit for lots of grunge and fun stuff. I've shown you examples of them with photos clipped to them - my grandsons with great face painting one done at Disney World and the other done at a down town street fair - can you tell which is which??? If I didn't know I sure wouldn't be able to tell - the lady we had down town was awesome!

I've been experimenting with shadows lately and I really wanted to do something fun and funky with this alpha - I have a program which puts shadows on a separate layer, so it allows me to do a lot. I didn't do it because I was taught not to leave external shadows on elements, but I wanted to ask you - do you really hate it when designers create elements with shadows?

What a great line up of designers for the Ghost train! Thanks so much to those of you who have left comments, when you design freebies it pretty much makes your day! My part is in the post just below this one. I just wanted to let those of you who have been downloading my Make A Scene pages that there are a couple in the Halloween Kit too. Here's my favorite. I thought of it as "Halloween is over - or is it?" With our little Will putting his costume away and a lot still going on outside his window and in his room. You can personalize the little name plate on the wardrobe. Everything else is already in the scene. Just extract your little (or big) one and pop them into the scene.

I also wanted to let you know that if you are still looking for more Halloween stuff and are willing to go into my archives I still have last years Halloween freebie up but it doesn't match the Ghost Train color swatch. You can get that one HERE

Free Make a Scene fun page kit

I've had the most fun of all doing this one. Luckily little Will had the perfect photos for me to use in the previews - Halloween he was a dragon (fall scene) and then of course there's St. Patrick's Day with the funny hat (spring scene)!

All of the elements are separate and there are some as clusters like the leaves on the tree and the flower bed, but then you have separate leaves and flowers so you can get as creative as you like. There's wings, hummingbirds, dragons, fairies and everything you need to make your fantasy layout your own. Hope you have as much fun with this as I did.

This week we have a girls "parlor" that started out to be a little girls bedroom, but ended up a parlor somehow. If you put a photo in the mirror just use soft light if you want it to come out like a subtle reflection, just remember to also flip it horizontally.

I know I promised you some flower freebies and they are in the works, but I got side tracked on this past rainy weekend working on two things I really need practice on - perspective and extraction. You get the results of my practice as freebies! Boy was this fun to do! I hope you have fun with them too.

Here's the first two, Beach Daze and School Daze. I'm working on more scenes - I have both girls and boys bedrooms started and hope to finish them up soon along with the CU flowers.

Some of the elements are separate and the idea is to play with it and create your own scene. FREE MINI KIT

I had to drop the kit I was working on to take part in the August CC over at DSO because the colors were so gorgeous! They reminded me of soft watercolors with a summery feel. Soft Summer is 8 watercolor papers and 23 summery elements. The acrylic sailboat frame has a separate photo mat to make it easy to use. Separate downloads for the elements and papers so you can take what you'd like. I'm also going to come back with the water lily in it's original colors as an individual download which will be okay for CU and PU as it's extracted from a photo of mine that I used for a layout.

The tables have turned

Diana (aka: amberpony Creates) was a wonderful addition to my CT when I was designing for Stone Accents Studio. Now the tables have turned and she's got an adorable kit called Country Girl on sale in the store and I've done a couple of layouts with it to show how great it is. The tranquil colors were taken from a photo of her meadow in spring and the kit is very versatile for year round and all types of layouts. Each of the 4 backgrounds has a matching layered frame and border, you can choose whether to use one, both or just the paper. First of all I want to thank you for all of the wonderful comments on this kit - that's what keeps designers going and right now I need inspiration to sit inside at the computer - strong case of spring fever :)

I wanted to correct a couple of things about this kit - most importantly I somehow did not credit Cindy Wetmiller (Wetfish Designs) in my TOU. I used some of her new overlays, which I love, to make the background papers.

I also left out of the preview the layered bark with branches journaling piece - it's the one you see at the top of the blog used as a header - that's in this kit also.

Free Full Mother's Day Kit

Here it is finally! What's the saying about a day late and a dollar short. Well, I'm a day late, but hopefully not short - I actually could have kept going on this kit, but time to move on to the next project! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!

I've given you 4 separate files here again so you can pick and choose what you want to download. I have the floral papers and the solids separated and the wordart and the other elements. The one ragged floral (roses) is in with the solids due to the size of the file (png).

If you're new to scrapping and these papers overwhelm you, just use a frame and some word art and you're done! Sometimes with papers of this type less is more so that your photos don't get lost in the layout.

I tried to give you a solid in enough colors so that you could do 2 papers if you wanted to with any of the florals. Enjoy!

Well, as always Kim B has come up with another inspirational color palette. The colors reminded me of a sunset. Put that together with the photos I have from my nephew who has gorgeous photos from recent dives and my neice who just took an interest in landscape photography and you have my inspiration for Water Sky. Hope you enjoy it!

If you like this type of background please come back soon because I'm working on a mother's day kit with a similar technique with floral photos. It may take me a couple of weeks to finish it because the weathers too beautiful to stay indoors lol.

Free Easter Kit part 8

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and took lots of photos to use the kit with! Here's the rest of the bunnies for your "hood". Their friend the sheep is also here. There's a mat with some chicks and some plain grass (in case you don't want the glitter grass in the previous download) some flowers, 2 birds and some envelope closures - I also included a photo clipping mask since they seem to be so popular right now - I put a photo on the one in the preview so you'd get to see what it looks like when done.

Free Easter Kit part 7

I gave you the Easter basket with just grass and each egg is individual so you can build your own basket or use them separately in your layouts. There are also 2 ribbon frames included this week.

I hope to have another part of the Easter Kit out by the weekend (hint on header - the eggs are coming both pretty and silly), but in the meantime I have some exciting news to share.

SAS, my first home in the digi world, is under new ownership. Antoinette Westberry who you all know as Piggyscraps is the new owner and she has some great ideas and upcoming activities! Free Add On for The Manor in Springtime

Wow was this add on fun to make. It all started when I couldn't find the brush I needed to make the chandeliers that I wanted to include in the original kit. With the theme and Kim's gorgeous palette I just couldn't stop! The add on includes 2 papers that look like terra cotta tile, 1 foot bridge, 1 lantern, 1 ivy sprig, 1 cork, 1 beaded border, 2 tassels, 1 locket and a bead spill and since this is the end of the month I guess it's time to stop.

Lots more to come on the Easter kit and I'm working on some really pretty floral papers for you so y'all come back now!

Free Easter Kit - part 6

Okay, I didn't want to wait any longer to post another download for you - so this one's a real hodge podge of elements and papers that go with the kit - That's why I hate doing a kit in pieces, it's hard for people to imagine how it all works together - I promise it does - just make sure you get all the downloads. They are all still available.
Today there are 5 "Hoppy Easter" papers in assorted colors with slightly different designs on each, a bunny pair and a bunny with a basket of eggs, a locket, 2 speech bubbles, a glitter floral border, some buttons, some brads I really had fun making and a flowered basket.
There's another whole set of eggs, baskets and grass coming and hopefully some more papers and I know you need some frames - this kit may not be done before Easter, but I know I still have several more installments to get out. Download #6 HERE

Free Easter Kit part 5 - more basics

Here's part 4 of The Bunny Hood. If you've missed the first 3 parts, they're still available by scrolling down. By the way I do have a St. Patrick's Day kit available. I designed it last March - just scroll to the bottom of the page - it was one of my first kits and it's called Kiss Me. If you don't want to click on the link and go directly, there are many freebies available along the way.

Today's download includes 5 papers - 1 natural basket weave which I tried to make as realistic as possible, 2 stained glass papers and 2 gauze papers in gradient colors. A bunny border with a journal tag, an egg wreath, 2 "bunny" bows and 4 tiny tags. Have Fun and if you download say hello - I love to know where people are from!

Free Easter Kit part 3

Here's your next part of The Bunny Hood, I hope you're enjoying this kit as much as I am - it's been fun to make!

This download has a couple of different papers in it, a basket weave pattern in 2 different colors and what I'm calling "stained glass" . I have more stained glass papers to come in this kit.
These are all the jelly beans I have for now and there's a bunny wreath, a cloud for the sky of your "hood" and a glitter grass border. I have a few more borders both glitter and plain to come, so be sure and come back or subscribe and get the whole kit. I will leave downloads up as long as I don't run out of space on 4 shared.

Free Easter Kit

My personal time commitments have changed and unfortunately I've had to close my SAS store. It's been a wonderful experience, but I find I can no longer keep up with the commitment.

The good news for all of my blog followers is that I'll be using my design time to create freebies you can find here on a regular basis.

The first is a full sized Easter kit with a whimsical feel called The Bunny Hood. I'll be leaving downloads here as I work on it as often as I can. I don't have a preview for you because it's not a complete kit as yet. I did give you a color swatch so that you can tell if it will be a match to your photos and hopefully you'll have some fun with it.

There will definitely be a lot of Easter Elements such as eggs and jelly beans, baskets and several more bunnies and of course some chicks. So stop back often so that you can get the complete kit. The little layout below is just to give you an idea of what the kit will be like.

Yeah! Suruha got it when she guessed the location as Lakes of the Clouds.

The Lakes of the Clouds are a set of small ponds located at the 5,032 ft col between Mount Monroe and Mount Washington in the White Mountains of the U.S. state of New Hampshire. The lakes form the source of the Ammonoosuc River, a tributary of the Connecticut River.

Here's some hints: It's well known, it's in the state of New Hampshire and it's not easy to get to. When I was there it was October and it really wasn't that snowy - some of that snow is digital :). The name is 4 words long.

Okay - a few more clues, some of you are so close!
amsangel was close in name, but this is further north.
LJD has the right general area for location, but this is more specific.
One last hint - you can't drive to it - it's a 4 mile walk. I think the angle of this photo makes it look larger than it really is.

6 Sailors will receive gift packages

Well I finally got my scanner to cooperate so I could share with you what I was able to buy with proceeds from the Navy Kits. I should get another statement soon so I'll probably be sending another one, but they probably won't get it in time for the holidays.
I'll share with you what the items were for two reasons, in case you ever want to send one out on your own and also because I want everyone to know that these are things these guys need out there that are not being provided for them - okay, don't get me started LOL! All of these items were on a list I received from the ship. They put together packages they call "shoe boxes", so I got enough to make up 6 good size boxes with some of everything they had on their list except the TP (called battle paper).
The only things I got them that weren't every day necessity items were a tin of popcorn and a couple of Pepperoni sticks, hopefully to be enjoyed at a holiday celebration.

Cotton swabs, Gold Bond Powder, Shampoo, snack crackers, Ricola cough drops, Cup O Noodles, bars of soap, baby wipes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss and deodorant.

So thanks so much to everyone who bought the kit - they will appreciate it and it will brighten their day to know someone from home is thinking of them!

I have a new Navy kit in the store just in time for the holidays. A very Navy Christmas is a tribute to our Sailors serving away from home and their families this holiday season.
This kit has some Christmas elements added in Red, White and blue and also some awesome vintage Navy elements by Amberpony Creates. The 28 word mask frames from Softerimagegrl are still there too. At $3.00 it's a great value.
Like In The Navy Now, all proceeds (100% of your cost) will be spent to send every day items to the sailors on the USS Ramage.
I can't promise they will get there in time for the holidays now, but they may and they will still need these items when the holidays are over. They are currently in Bahrain and surrounding areas.

We're In The Navy Now Kit

I'm afraid this post finds me very upset. When I created my Navy Kit I used some wonderful elements created by Lady Shannon of Memories Made Easy. I had her written permission to use her things as CU and if you have the kit, you know that several of the elements in there have her name on them and she is mentioned as a collaborator in the TOU.
Someone who knew nothing of our agreement used her name to accuse me of piracy, both here on my blog (post removed because it came from "anonymous") and to the administration at SAS. I'm not sure if there are posts in any of the forums out there.
If you did buy this kit please rest assured that 1. There was no piracy involved in the making of this kit. 2. 100% (I realized TOU says 75%, but decided to do 100%) of the proceeds will go toward Christmas boxes for the sailors on the USS Ramage. I will scan receipts when I make the purchases and post them here for everyone to see. Also if you did buy the kit you'll know that Lady Shannon was given full credit as a collaborator and named on several elements in the kit as the creator.
Do I have a personal interest here - yes, I do, and I also tried to be honest about that. My grandson is one of the sailors on the Ramage and he sent me several of the photos that I used in making papers for the kit (which were my original inspiration for the kit) The boxes will be addressed to the ship, not to him personally.
If I knew who did this I would address them personally, but since I have no idea I'm asking them through this blog to undo the damage they have done by checking with Lady Shannon and removing any posts they may have made to any forums and blogs - whoever you are, you must have quickly looked at the preview and you don't have the kit - I'll be glad to send you the whole kit so you can read the TOU and see the credits given. Just get in touch with me. Everything was done on the up and up here between all parties involved and you've created a problem for all of us.
